Snakes In Your Home Or Yard? What You Can Do

Posted on

Snakes are a pest that can be scary to find in your home or your yard, especially if it ends up being a poisonous snake. Even if it isn't poisonous, it can be scary to find a snake in your yard or your home. If irritated or scared, a snake can bite you and injure you, your children, or your pets. If you find that you have a problem with snakes in your home or your yard, you need to hire a pest control company to get rid of these pests for you. See below for what you may be able to do to get rid of a snake problem.

Trap It With A Pillowcase

You can trap a snake in a pillowcase. Someone would need to hold the pillowcase while someone else tries to scare the snake towards the pillowcase and hopefully into the pillowcase. This may not always work, as the snake may not go in the direction you want it to go. The person holding the pillowcase needs to be on the lookout to be sure the snake doesn't attempt to bite them if this goes awry. If you have something that can pick up the snake such as a long-handled hook and can then place the snake into the pillowcase, this may be an easier way to get the snake into the pillowcase. Tie the pillowcase and then release the snake into the wild somewhere far away from your home or yard.

Trap It With A Container

If you can, you can trap the snake with a container by dropping a container over the top of the snake and then holding the container in place over the snake by putting something heavy on the top of the container. Call a professional pest control company to remove the snake from the container and take it away from your home.

Call A Pest Control Company

Hire a pest control company and leave the snake alone until they can get to your home. The pest control company can remove the snake from your home or your yard for you, but you need to keep away from it to prevent injury in the meantime until the pest control company can get to your home. Depending on where the snake is, this may be difficult to do.

If you have a problem with snakes in your home or your yard, you should leave the pest alone, especially if you don't know for sure if the snake is poisonous or not. Call a pest control company for help with this pest issue and prevent injury.
